Congratulations on starting your journey towards better sleep!
At the end of each session we’ll send you a summary of what was covered, and suggestions for putting the skills you learned into real-life practice.
During Session One we covered:
- The causes of poor sleep and how negative thoughts and behaviors maintain the vicious cycle of poor sleep.
- The structure and content of the Sleepio course. Today was Session One; you have five more to look forward to! During these sessions, you’ll be walked through skills to target the thoughts and behaviors that are maintaining your sleep problem.
- Your personal goals. More specifically, what you hope to improve over the next six weeks. We will track progress towards your goals at the beginning of each session.
- Sleep efficiency, or the percentage of time you spend asleep while in bed. Sleep efficiency is an important variable, and one we’ll use to track improvements in your sleep. We’ll review your sleep efficiency progress at the beginning of each session.
- The sleep diary and its importance. The sleep diary helps us to tailor Sleepio to your specific needs, and is a great way to track sleep improvements (such as increases in sleep efficiency).
Practice for the coming week:
- Complete your sleep diary every morning when you wake up. This helps to personalize your Sleepio program and track your progress. The sleep diary can also help you to identify important sleep patterns and gain insights into your sleep.
