James (capjamesg)
Hello there! I am James. I started writing about coffee and the IndieWeb in mid-2020. Today, I write a lot about the web, moments of joy, stories, and more.
I co-host Homebrew Website Club London / Europe every week with
Mark Sutherland. I was a co-chair on the W3C Social Web Incubator Community Group.
Technologies
My site uses:
Active IndieWeb community projects
I run:
- Cali, the Etherpad archiving bot.
- https://jamesg.blog/hwc-notes, a site that provides RSS feeds with all IndieWeb event notes archived on the wiki.
I maintain:
- IndieWeb Utils, a Python package with IndieWeb-related utilities.
I help maintain:
- mf2py, the Python microformats parser.
Open Source Projects
I have open-sourced a number of components behind my website on GitHub. My open-source projects are usually named after the function they provide.
Here are the open-source projects I have written so far:
- capjamesg/micropub
- capjamesg/microsub
- capjamesg/jamesg-indieauth
- capjamesg/webmention-receiver
- capjamesg/websub
- capjamesg/indieweb-search
- capjamesg/indieweb-utils
- capjamesg/static-site-webring
- capjamesg/planet
- capjamesg/microsub-opml-utils
I am working on an edit button for the web.
IndieWeb Search
I built a search engine for the IndieWeb community. You can read more about the search engine on the IndieWeb Search wiki page. The project is no longer active, but the code is open source.
IndieWeb Blog Posts
You can view my IndieWeb-related blog posts on the IndieWeb category on my blog.
Project Name Ideas
Many of my projects use a naming convention where their names start with the letter A.
Here are a few ideas for future project names I wanted to note down somewhere:
- Alpine (likely going to be related to collaborative software)
- to add more ideas as I have them...
